A Song Just For You, From Robert

Our Kickstarter campaign ends in just a little over 24 hours which means two things: we only have one day left to reach our goal; and we are even closer to sharing this music with all of you. The mission of this project has always been to use music to give strength to people who need it. In times of reflection, sadness, and remembrance, the music can take over and bring us to a place we never thought we would reach. 

For giving $250 to the Lullabies from the Heart Kickstarter Campaign, you will get a Lulla-gram: a personalized phone call from Robert where he will serenade you or someone you choose on a special day. In that past Robert has called people on their birthdays, anniversaries of sobriety or other personal milestones, wedding anniversaries, or days of remembrance for a loved one who has passed. Robert’s call will be a memory you can cherish forever.

How Kickstarter Works

We’ve gotten a few questions about Kickstarter, and the process of “Backing this Project” so we wanted to take some time to clear things up.

Kickstarter is a way for projects like ours to be funded by the people they are created for. Whether you are a fan of Robert’s, Lev Productions’s or were touched by the concept of the album, this music was created with you in mind. With Kickstarter, people pledge any amount they want, and depending on what they give they can get incentives of different levels.

With fans coming together and each pledging what they can, hopefully we will reach our goal and spread this music out into the world.

These are some of the Frequently Asked Questions from the Kickstarter backing process

If we do not reach the goal on Kickstarter:

• No one’s credit card will be charged
• Unfortunately no one will receive any of the incentives
• I will not get any of the funds pledged because no payments will be processed

If we do reach the goal on Kickstarter:

• Backers will recieve an email notification from Kickstarter announcing our success
• Credit cards will be charged for the amount pledged, and processed securely through Amazon. This process begins October 1st.
• My team will send surveys to backers to get information regarding where to send/ship incentives

I Hope You Dance – A Song of Life

When you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance

“I Hope You Dance” – made famous by LeeAnn Womack – is a beautiful reminder that we need to take time to see the beauty in our lives and appreciate the opportunities that we have. Robert had performed this song at some of his shows, and immediately suggested it for Lullabies from the Heart. This track features the Twin Cities vocalist, Aimée Lee.

Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you’ll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.

Robert chose this song because it reminds us to take the time to dance – garden, sing, play, love – because “to be busy and to work hard and long is the epidemic of our world, and we need to take the time to enjoy life in whatever way we can.

On September 21st, Rafael chose to play “I Hope You Dance” on KFAI’s “A Great Blend of Watercolors.” Listen to Robert explain why he chose the song, and hear the track itself!

Lullabies from the Heart CD Release Concert: 8 pm Friday October 11, 2013 at the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis, MN

If you haven’t heard, there will be a CD release concert for Lullabies from the Heart with Robert Robinson at 8 pm on October 11th at the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis, MN. Come experience this once-in-a-lifetime performance, with Robert, Scooter Nelson, Sean Turner, Aimée Lee, and other talented musicians from the Twin Cities performing the music from the album.

There are limited tickets available through the Dakota website, but if you are looking for a way to support Lullabies from the Heart and gain exclusive access to Robert and the team consider backing our project on Kickstarter.com. For a pledge of $150 you and a guest will have reserved seats at the Lullabies from the Heart CD release concert and a chance to meet Robert Robinson.

For All We Know – A Song of Appreciation

“For all we know, we may never meet again.
Before you go make this moment sweet again.
We won’t say goodnight until the last minute
I’ll hold out my hand and my heart will be in it.”

When thinking of songs that can bring a sense of peace and calm, Robert suggested “For All We Know” by Donny Hathaway. To Robert, this song is about living every moment like it may be our last and Robert sings “For All We Know” with everything he has.

Robert said that “For All We Know” reminds him that life is short. He said, “We need to celebrate the ones we love, recognizing that tomorrow is not promised. We only have the moments we are given. Love hard! Play hard! Cry hard! I may never see you again.”

On September 21st, “For All We Know” from Lullabies from the Heart with Robert Robinson was heard for the first time during an exclusive interview with The Grand Deeva, Dee Henry Williams on the Twin Cities radio station, KFAI.

Robert and Rafael Forbush (Executive Producer) told the story behind the project and each chose a track from the album to play on the air. Robert chose “For All We Know” and dedicated it to a dear friend of his who had passed away earlier that morning.

Over the past few weeks, you have heard so much about “Lullabies from the Heart.”  Everything from why we chose the songs to stories that inspired the project and even posted polls about how you relax.  Now, we think it is time for you to hear from the centerpiece of this project. The incomparable voice of Robert Robinson.  The voice that soothes like no other. The voice that is a true gift from God.

On Saturday, Sept. 21, you can hear directly from Robert as he is interviewed by none other than the Grand Deeva Dee Henry Williams on her show “A Great Blend of Watercolors” on KFAI Minneapolis/St. Paul 90.3 and 106.7.  If you don’t live in the Twin Cities, you can still listen online at KFAI.org.

Robert will be joined by the creator of “Lullabies from the Heart,” Rafael Forbush.  You may even get to hear some of the songs from the project.  We are so excited to share these songs with the world.  We know they will bring about peace and comfort for many.

The Story of a Grandchild

Lullabies from the Heart was inspired by many different stories and people who were given strength and comfort through music.  This is one of their stories:

I got the call from my father. “She’s not gonna make it through the night. You better get over here.” So, I made a CD of my grandmother’s favorite song and rushed over to the hospital.

When I got there, she was quickly fading but she opened her eyes right when I walked through the door. I put the CD in the player, and as soon as the music started playing I watched as peace, comfort and relief fell over my grandmother, radiating to everyone in the room.
There we were – all of us – holding hands and listening to the music.

 

Waiting.

I saw a smile flash across my grandmother’s face.  She opened her eyes wide, took one last breath and started her journey home.

The music soothed her. It lifted her spirits and gave her the strength she needed to let go. I watched my grandmother be lulled, and it was beautiful, and I know she went in peace.
